He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ronda (Harbot) Grady; his children, Laurie Grady (Eric), Gerald (Vicky) Grady, Matthew (Gloria) Grady, Stephen Grady, and his little girl, Jessica Grady; brother and sister-in-law Ronald (Retha) Grady and Lucy Grady; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Thomas (Bertha) Harbot, Frank Harbot, Cheryl (Wally) Thompson, Robyn Harbot, Harry Harbot, Jr., and Julia Emery; grandchildren, Jeffrey Filippetti (Melanie), James Filippetti (Jennifer), Kayla Grady (Kriss), Alex Grady, Abigail Grady, Holly Grady (Tyler) and Zack Grady; great-grandchildren, Owen and Levi Filippetti, and Bryn Filippetti; and several nieces and nephews. Frank Brown was a beloved member of his community; music teacher and performer, husband and father. She is survived by her loving husband and partner of almost 50 years, Daniel Scheffey; six children, Daniel Elias Scheffey (Lauren Moody) of Florence, TX, Joseph Scheffey (Ivana) of Midland, TX, Leona (David) Russell of Scottsville, NY, Jennifer (Crispin) Lewis of Dominica, Nelly (Leon) Crisp of Raleigh, NC, and Anna Scheffey-Hohle (Steven Hohle) of Burdett, NY; sister Martha (Larry) Herr of Lebanon, PA; and 10 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Katie, Isobel, Otto, Samuel, Cooper, Adeline, Isaac, Chrissan and Chrisna. Marys greatest pleasure was being a wife, mother, and homemaker. We are a full service funeral home providing individualized funeral services designed to meet the unique needs of each family. Ruth was a wife, mother of five, and grandmother to many. A Celebration of Life will be held next year in her memory, and will be announced by her family. She worked as a bookkeeper for Polly-O Dairy, was the Montour Falls Village Clerk, and an Administrative Assistant for Odessa-Montour Central School until her retirement in 1994. Joanna served as a Schuyler County Legislator, WGCS School Board Member, on Schuyler County Cinderella Softball League and many other boards and committees throughout her lifetime. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Van in 1995 and Betty Hudson Van in 2017, and brother Robert Spence Van in 2021.
